This Friday, competition will heat up with four relatively different films releasing in theatres.
While Helicopter Eela stars Kajol in the main lead, the story revolves around the relationship a mother shares with her son. Kajol plays an aspiring singer and a single mother. The film is directed by Pradeep Sarkaar.
Fryday on the other hand is an out-an-out comedy film that sees the comeback of comedy king Govinda. It also stars Varun Sharma (of Fukrey fame). Directed by Abhishek Dogra who had earlier helmed Sonam Kapoor starrer Dolly Ki Doli, the film had been postponed from its release a number of times and will finally see it splashed on the big screen.
Jalebi is a romantic drama produced by Mahesh Bhatt and stars Rhea Chakraborty along with a newcomer Varun Mitra and Digangana. A remake of a Bengali film, it has been directed by Pushpdeep Bhardwaj.
Tumbbad is a horror film that has been long in the making. It has already garnered interest and the horror loving audience can’t wait for the film to release. Directed by Rahi Anil Barve and Adesh Prasad, it’s a story of a man’s greed for treasure hidden deep inside the earth and the outcome of his greed.
Four films from four different genres. What will work and run at the box office, only Friday will tell.
