Anupam Kher who headed Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) as its chairman has subsequently resigned from this post due to work commitments in the USA.
In a letter dated 30th October and sent to Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Kher has stated that due to prior work commitments, (New Amsterdam series), he will be stationed in the United States for 9 months in 2018-2019 and as a result won’t be in a position to do justice to his role as Chairman of FTII the post which he held since the last 11 months.
It has been an honour, a privilege & a great learning experience to be the Chairman of the prestigious @FTIIOfficial. But because of my international assignments I won’t have much time to devote at the institute. Hence decided to send my resignation. Thank you. 🙏 @Ra_THORe pic.twitter.com/lglcREeYM2
