Actress Kajol promotes Help A Child Reach 5 campaign

Actress Kajol who was last seen in the Bollywood flick ‘Toonpur Ka Superhero’ with hubby Ajay Devgn has lent her support to a social awareness campaign ‘Help A Child Reach 5’.

According to statistics, 2 million children under 5 die every year due to preventable infections like diarrhea and pneumonia.

This campaign run by soap major Lifebuoy currently runs in 15 countries and have reached about 150 million people in the last three years to sanitise them about washing hands regularly.

Speaking at the occasion, Kajol said that parents can go to any length for the welfare of their children. And with children dying due to health issues like diarrhea and pneumonia, parents can take precautions and avoid this premature death. Saving a child’s life is the right of every person. And its every child’s right to reach the age of 5. Being a mother herself, she reiterated that she wants to see every child reach the age of 5.

Mayank, a child who’s the brand ambassador for the campaign also spoke about the benefits of washing hands with soap regularly.
